Rapid Fuel Assist attended the Kealba service station and completed a full fuel tank drain on-site. Because the vehicle had not been driven, the contamination was contained entirely within the tank, no flushing of the broader fuel system was required. The D-MAX was confirmed running correctly and the RACV unit was back on the road and back to helping Melbourne drivers in no time. Mercedes-Benz A200: petrol in diesel, Taylors Hill

A Mercedes-Benz A200 owner filled up with petrol instead of diesel and drove the vehicle until it broke down on a regional Victoria road. By the time we were contacted the vehicle was no longer driveable. The owner elected to have the vehicle towed back to Melbourne by RACV to manage costs rather than have us attend the regional location.

Once the vehicle arrived back in the Taylors Hill area, Rapid Fuel Assist completed a full fuel system drain and flush, removing all contaminated fuel and refuelling with the correct diesel. The A200 was tested and confirmed running correctly after the service. The vehicle was stranded on a quiet road clear of fast-moving traffic, which made the recovery significantly safer for everyone involved.
