Wrong Fuel? Emergency Mobile Service 1300 692 469

What Actually Makes Us the Fairest Priced Wrong Fuel Recovery Service?

Rapid Fuel Assist prices fairly because there’s no middleman built into the cost. We hold an EPA Victoria licence to transport and dispose of our own waste fuel, so we’re not paying a third party to do it for us. We’re a small, owner-operated business with no call centre taking a cut, and no subcontractors marking up the job. Pricing starts from $400 and is fixed and quoted upfront, with most jobs completed for $450 to $475. Call 1300 692 469 for a fixed quote before we come out.

The Real Cost Difference Comes Down to Who’s Actually Doing the Work

A lot of wrong fuel recovery pricing in Melbourne isn’t really about the job itself, it’s about how many people get paid along the way. Some operators claim EPA permitting but aren’t actually permitted or licensed to transport or dispose of waste fuel themselves. That means they have to pay a third party to come and take the waste fuel off their hands, and that cost gets built into what you’re charged.

We hold an EPA Victoria permit, which means we can legally transport and dispose of the waste fuel we recover ourselves. There’s no third party in the chain, so there’s no third-party margin added to your invoice.

On top of that, we’re owner-operated. There’s no call centre taking a booking fee, no dispatcher coordinating a subcontracted technician, and no franchise fee sitting on top of the price. When you call, you’re speaking with the person who’s actually coming out to do the job.

Why Some Quotes Look Cheap Until the Invoice Arrives

It’s worth knowing what you’re actually being quoted before you book. We’ve heard from customers who were quoted a call-out fee plus a per-litre rate for the fuel and waste removed, plus separate EPA and card processing fees added at the end — so the number on the phone isn’t the number on the invoice. We’ve also heard of operators charging a flat rate for the initial service, then billing an additional hourly rate afterwards to remove and clean spark plugs, treating it as a separate job rather than part of getting the car running again.

We think that’s a bit backwards. If a petrol car has had diesel put in it and been driven, pulling and cleaning the spark plugs as part of getting it running again should be included in the job, not billed on top as a separate call-out. The only extra cost that makes sense is if the spark plugs actually need replacing — and even then, that should be a single set price, not an open-ended hourly rate.

Our pricing is fixed and quoted upfront for all regular commuter vehicles. Trucks and larger fuel tanks are priced differently given the extra fuel and time involved, but they’re still fixed and quoted before we start. AdBlue jobs vary depending on what’s required. Either way, you know the number before we arrive, not after. This also applies to regional services as we need to account for travel time.

We’ll Show You the Paperwork, Not Just Tell You About It

Being upfront about pricing goes hand in hand with being upfront about credentials. If you’d like to see proof of our public liability insurance — which covers vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks up to 10 tonnes and trailers, including working on fuel systems and test driving the vehicle afterwards — or confirmation of our EPA Victoria licensing, just ask. We’re happy to provide it before you book, not just mention it on a website.

Real Jobs, Real Pricing

We’d rather show you actual completed jobs than talk in generalities.

Mercedes ML350 — Ampol, Beach Road, Hampton — $450
Full tank of wrong fuel, recovered on-site at the petrol station in 40 minutes.

Volkswagen Amarok — BP Wallan (outbound) — $450
Full tank recovery completed at the servo in 35 minutes, at the same fixed price as a metro job.

Isuzu MU-X — Customer’s home, Cranbourne East — $475 (includes 25 litres of correct fuel supplied)
A one-hour job at the customer’s home, where we also supplied the correct fuel to get the vehicle back on the road immediately.

For larger recoveries, our Ford Ranger case study in Richmond and furniture truck recovery show what’s possible even on more complex jobs.

What Our Customers Say About Our Pricing

“They showed up very fast, did a good job and very professional. No hidden fees. Charged what I was told over the phone. The alternative would have been to tow it to dealership and pay 4 times more.” — Navid R., Google review

“Very professional, kept me updated until they arrived, then they had me sorted and back on the road in about 40 mins. Great value compared to what I have heard from friends who have done this, my Tiguan (fuel tank only as I did not start the engine, thank goodness) $450 all up.” — Adrian R., Google review

“Informed of time of arrival, tech was on the ball, went about job professionally, tested cars operation. Would recommend to all. Registered with the correct authorities. EPA etc.” — Roger A., Google review
